Lessons
Leah Kamm gives private piano instruction out of her Batavia, Illinois home for beginning and intermediate students. Lessons are given on an acoustic Yamaha upright piano and include music theory, lesson pieces that coincide with theory learning, technique exercises, and repertoire of many styles.
Mrs. Kamm favors the Faber and Faber piano method, but incorporates resources and repertoire from many other methods as well. She is a flexible teacher willing to work with other preferred methods of the student. She enjoys working with students and presenting them with music that will both motivate and challenge them. As with any instrument or skill, the most growth and improvement will come from consistent student practice outside of lesson time.
Lessons are 30 minutes in length and the fee is $20.00. There is a 24-hour cancellation policy: the student will be charged if notice is not given 24 hours prior to the lesson.
Due to a full daytime teaching schedule, private lesson slots are few. Currently lessons are given Tuesday evenings only. Mrs. Kamm's studio does not host public recitals but encourages students to perform outside of lesson time such as in their school music classroom (with classroom teacher approval).
